The Penn Yan Academy invited IDEA to work with their Intro to Agriculture class in a 9 week intensive workshop. The class was introduced  as a hands-on approach to elaborating 2D drawings into metal sculptures.  Using the Wildlife Studies in Paper class as an example, students worked on individually designed animals from the Finger Lakes.  Students experienced guided lessons on material processing, layout, structural concepts, and metal fabrication techniques.

Students finished the class with hand-crafted animals in steel, a new knowledge of metal fabrication, and the ability to visualize drawings into 3D.  Their models were showcased at the annual School Budget Vote where community members and parents were welcome to visualize their children's newly learned skills.
